Protects from Sun, Washes Terribly

"I’m pretty bummed because I looked for a sun shirt like this for so long, and I wanted to love it. The fabric is silky and I expected it to make me hot, but I actually stay cool which is the reason for the 3 stars. I love the length, and I am getting no sun while wearing this at the pool. My disappointment is that the beautiful, crisp white doesn’t stay white. The oil from my sweat and possibly residue from mineral sunscreen, makes it dingy and brown, and does not wash out. I’ve tried laundry spray, oxygen whitener, baking soda, vinegar (separately) and the “ring around the collar” and other yucky brown streaks do not wash out. I’ve only line-dried, washed in cool/warm, and use gentle and biodegradable detergent."

"This shirt is soft and smooth against my skin. It drapes well, has a nice sleeve length, and with the 2 pockets I can wear it braless, since I’m recovering from severe shingles. This shirt really protects my sensitive skin against getting sunburned, not even the slightest pink skin discoloration. I loved wearing it on the beach on St George Island, Florida. Nice length and classy look. I have 4 of these shirts!"
